  • Margaret Sandford

    Director

    Maggie grew up in Barrington and graduated from BHS in 2007.  She went on to attend the University of Illinois, where she earned her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Early Childhood Education.  This is her first year at St. Mark's.  Maggie loves spending time with her 1 year old son, Bruce and her husband, Cory,

  • Sheila Stadler

    Assistant Director

    Sheila grew up in Chicago and graduated from Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School.  She earned her undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education from St. Xavier University and her Master's Degree in Child Development from the Erikson Institute.  She is a Developmental Therapist with the Illinois Early Intervention System as well.  This will be her first year at St. Mark's.  Sheila is married and has two school aged kids who are busy themselves with soccer, band, and Irish dance.  

  • Kristen Splitt

    2's Teacher

    Kristen is starting her eighth year at St. Mark’s. She received her Bachelor’s in Communicative Disorders and her Master’s in Speech/Language Pathology while

    attending Northern Illinois University. During the week, Kristen loves teaching a variety of classes at St. Mark’s and she continues to practice speech and language therapy with children and families. On the weekends, Kristen and her husband Rick can be found watching their children Jason, Carly, Nathan, and Toby play a variety of sports.

  • Natalie Viohl

    2's Teacher

    Natalie grew up in Barrington and graduated from Purdue University in 2000, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Early Education.  She currently lives in Algonquin with her husband Sean and two daughters, Sophia (10) and Bianca (8).  This will be Natalie's second wonderful year at St. Mark's.

  • Janet Fahrenbach

    3's Teacher

    This is Janet's eleventh year teaching preschool. It is her sixth year here at St. Mark's teaching the 3's. Prior to St. Mark's she taught 3's and 4's at a preschool in South Barrington. Janet has two sons named Ryan and Brendan.

  • Anne Quillen

    3's Teacher

    My name is Anne Quillen and I have been teaching preschool since 2008. I have been married for 21 years and have 2 daughters ages 13 and 10. I hold a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education from National Louis University. I taught preschool at the Elk Grove Day Care for 15 years. While I consider this Education invaluable, the most exciting education I have received is from the many years of working with young children! I have a passion for teaching and love meeting my new class and parents each year. It is wonderful to be back at St. Mark's Day School and I look forward to another great year.

  • Heidi Doyle

    4's Teacher

    Heidi was raised in Deer Park and earned her undergraduate degree with a B.S. in Elementary Education from Miami University. Heidi taught in the elementary classroom setting for 9 years and earned her M. Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from University of Illinois; she loves teaching literacy and holds a Reading Teacher endorsement as well. Heidi and her husband, Steve, have three children and their youngest just "graduated" from St. Mark's last year. After subbing and being an active member of the St. Mark's community for many years, Heidi is excited to be a new teaching addition to the St. Mark's 4's Team.

  • Kristie Frank

    4's Teacher

    Kristie and her family have lived in Barrington for the past 25 years.  She and her husband, Brian, have three children; Samantha (23), Sara (21), and Charlie (17).  Education is very important to Kristie.  A graduate of Palatine High School and Iowa State University, she's made a commitment to the development of preschoolers.  This will be Kristie's fourth year at St. Mark's, every day is a gift.  She has always been passionate about children and she loves helping them grow, create, and have fun!

  • Kim Green

    4's Teacher

    Kim is looking forward to joyfully celebrating her 20th year at St. Mark's this year where she have been abundantly blessed with countless lasting friendships with students, families, and staff.  She was born in raised in South Bend, Indiana and graduated from Purdue University.  She has been married to her husband Rick for 37 years and has two children and a grandson!  In her spare time she loves decorating, entertaining, gardening, cooking, and baking.  Her true joy is coming to school each day and creating a classroom that helps teach children the love of learning and development of lasting friendships!

  • Christine Melone

    4's Teacher

    This is Christine's second year teaching with Ms. Slatter in the 5 day 4's classroom. It is a delightful age and she considers it a joy to have this opportunity to spend her mornings with your child at St. Mark's. She has been affiliated with St. Mark's Church for 25 years, during which time she taught Sunday school, was a youth group leader, plus served on the Day School Advisory Board. She graduated from Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. She substitute taught at St. Mark's for 5-6 years, as well as in Cary District 26 for 10 years.  She is also the business manager for a local medical office and treasurer for a couple of non-profit organizations. She lives with her husband in Cary and has two sons, both of whom have graduated from college and now live and work in up-state New York.  She enjoys water-skiing, swimming, snow skiing, ice-skating and walking.

  • Kathi Slatter

    4's Teacher

    Kathi Slatter has been teaching the 5 day 4's for nine years.  She grew up in Park Ridge and attended Maine South High School.  She graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison and earned her Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from National Lewis University.  She has four children in District 220 schools and enjoys skiing with all of them!

  • Heather Williams

    4's Teacher

    Heather is thrilled to have the opportunity to spend time with your child this school year.  St. Mark’s holds a special place in her heart as she attended preschool here, and feels so fortunate to be able to teach in such a wonderful environment. This will be Heather’s fifth year teaching at St. Mark’s. She holds a Master’s Degree in Education and has taught second, third, and fourth grades during her nine years teaching elementary students. Her favorite subjects to teach have always been math and science, and she loves incorporating technology into her lessons. She is so excited to be able to pursue her passion of teaching with your child. When Heather is not teaching she enjoys spending time with her 10 year old twins and 7 year old daughter. She also loves to travel and play tennis in her free time.

  • Linda Cory

    5's Teacher

    Linda came to St. Mark's Day School right out of college and has taught here for over thirty years.  She feels privileged to have worked with all of the age groups, but found her home for the past twenty years teaching the Pre-Kindergarten 5's program.  To help nurture a child's creative spirit and kindle their mind while helping build their noble character is indeed her honor.

  • Heather Eade

    5's Teacher

    Heather was born in Michigan, but lived many places in her childhood including Crystal Lake, Illinois.  She graduated from Prairie Ridge High School in 2006. Heather went on to earn her Elementary Education Degree from Eastern Illinois University.  She has been teaching children since then!  This is her first year at St. Mark's and she cant wait to make many more years of memories here.  Heather currently resides in McHenry with her 1 year old son, Howard, her husband Hunter (a Barrington native), and a playful black lab, Wesson.  

  • Holly Velleuer

    Music Teacher

    Holly has been sharing the joy of music with St. Mark's students for 12 years and loves every minute of it! She has a Bachelor's in Vocal Music Education and resides in Barrington with her husband Ron.  She has two sons in college, a daughter with special needs at BHS, and her eight year old son Andrew will be in 3rd grade at Hough Street School.
